Hot Water Music is actually my all-time favorite band, and it's not even close. as i said in the thread about my recording of them, my wife and I got engaged on stage during a Hot Water show. Wink

HWM is far from "blah". it took me awhile to get into them, but they're a sick band. Remedy, A Flight and a Crash, Paper Thin, and basically all of Fuel For the Hate Game (especially Turnstile) are great songs

alright, I have a question. I know that Chuck Ragan/HWM are big fans of Leatherface, and did the split ep together. I know Chuck covered Trenchfoot, and HWM covered Springtime, but what's the deal with The Boat and Leatherface? Chuck has a song called The Boat, and the Leatherface website says the words "the boat" on the home page. is that a song lyric, a song title, or what? idk much about Leatherface, just kinda wondering what the relationship between Chuck's song and Leatherface is

i honestly have no idea what, if any, significance "the boat" has. i do know that Chuck is an avid fisherman, and i'm sure a lot of the other Gainesville scene bands are as well. maybe it's as simple as that.

I'll have to listen to them more, and I guess at the end of the day we just have to agree that musical taste is as vain as any other taste ... so although I may FIND them to be blah, it don't mean they ARE! It's just my humble opinion!

I made a leatherface thread a while back. I absolutely love them mush is one of my top albums. HWM are an all time fave band to one of the few bands I still listen to since my early teens.

I wish HWM and Leatherface both play some uk shows soon though.

No, don't think you did - tho I could be wrong. Mix-tape was great btw! I wrote up a whole long thread on it but it got erased by accident - the long and short of it is: AWESOME! Quite a lot of variety and interesting new songs and bands.
