Brian Fallon/Matt Pinfield podcast:

http://www.2hoursmattpinfield.com/2017/12/11/podcast-brian-fallon/

Someone on the FB Choir kindly posted this partial transcript:

"The whole record is a one person audience. You know what I mean? It’s like, I was writing to my close, close family and friends and like, and the people that have honestly dug into the lyrics, the people who love the Gaslight Anthem and all of the things that I’ve done and that have followed me through [my] career. The people that are, you know, believers in the . . . [pauses]. You know, my friend, every time she goes to see Bruce Springsteen, she calls it being “of the faith,” if you love Bruce Springsteen. And if you’re not [someone who loves Bruce], then you’re not “of the faith” she says . . . it’s very religious. For me, this [record] was for my people that are “of the faith” of ME, the faith of what I do for some reason, for whatever it is that you’re buying into the thing that I’m putting out into the world. This is what this record was for. And it was about exposing a lot and just being sort of, “I don’t know what to do, I don’t have the answers but here they are, here’s the questions.”

Are you still (we're you ever) of the faith?

I get it.

Does anyone remember when Brian had the blog "Cassettes in the mailbox"? He described his writing as something along the lines of the soundtrack to a movie he hadn't seen yet. Anyone have that quote? I think that's kind of fitting with this commentary.

Thought this was a great interview. Felt like Brian sounded very happy and focused. Also gave great insight into the songs new and old.

More importantly addressing Gaslight as open as he has since the hiatus. Never thought we wouldn't see them again in any way. But at least he confirmed we probably will. I don't totally buy we will never see new music. That feeling can change, but I guess we will see. Either way I'd be happy with just shows.

Band or solo. Brian is a great musician and songwriter. Period. So whatever iteration of his music we get I'm in.
