I like the 'Red of Tooth and Claw' album, musically at least, and the lyrics are interesting, but they don't move me the way Gaslight Anthem songs do. There is no way to connect.

The folk/punk band I can connect to are 'The Levellers', a UK band. And they are fantastic live. Check them out here:

I first heard MbD last week, and after seeing them twice now (DC and Charlotte) I have become a big fan!

"Good Morning, Magpie" drops on April 6th. It's sure to be great. Adam wrote it alone camping for 2 weeks in the mountains if thats any indication.

preorder is up. i'm thinking of indulging in the "fancy" edition

http://www.murderbydeath.com/merch.php

also the combo pack of early pressings includes the 16 page fold out of in bocca al lupo. 95 bucks is a little steep though

Good Morning, Magpie seems like it's going to be sick.

There's a stream of one of the songs off the album on punknews if anyones interested.

Love this band. Love the new album. The dark streets below and Yes are my favorite tracks, This is such an upbeat and catchy album but still feels like MBD...good work outta them.

They were pretty boring. and they played to long. I literally sat down right in front off the bar towards the end of there set. But i blame that on on the knee surgery i had the week before

They were in town on Record Store Day here in Dallas, and swung by Good Records to play a set. Good stuff!

I guess I have a different view than most when they played with Gaslight Anthem. I never heard them before seeing them and I was amazed. I thought their live sound was great, really big epic shit. To me, they are much better live than recorded. But I still love "Red Tooth and Claw" a lot. New album, not so much...
