The singin' lalalala part seems to be inspired by The Passenger by Iggy Pop.

Great song. Lotsa octaver for Alex R. once again.
Seems like Brian has wrote a lot of songs with a fuzz pedal for this. It does sound more Soundgarden than Black Sabbath to me.

I hear elements of Blue Dahlia's change of sound during song, He Comes My Man's "Sha la la la" and t Too Much Blood's riff gunge element. Add a little Stone Temple Pilots vibe to it.

Different but good. Definitely not one of my favorites, though. It feels like Blue Dahlia - two songs merged together but still incomplete.

I like it, but it's probably my least favorite of the three we've heard. That said, I was expecting to hate it based off the preview. So it will probably continue to grow on me.

I was really excited for this song from the teaser. This was very very disappointing. I guess I had super high expectations for it. I mean it's good don't get me wrong. But I almost wish the music of the verses and choruses were flipped. I hate how it just drops off for the chorus. Nice guitar work in there though. I'm sure it'll grow on me. Just absolutely love the verse instrumentals.

Not really a fan of this song at all. The teaser did nothing for me when I first heard it. I did like the first two songs so I am interested to see how I will feel about this album as a whole.

I really really like this song; the teaser didn't excite me at all, but whith the progression in the chorus the verse grew on me.For me so far we have a masterpiece (Get hurt), an awesome one (This) and a really good song (Rollin').Couldn't be happier about this record.

I'm excited. I feel like Alex R is getting more influence and more freedom to create. The guy is a genius in my opinion. I can't wait to get vinyl spinning.

I've decided not to listen to it until the album drops (two songs is enough). I'm curious if I'll be able to hold out Smile

I like the verse and I LOVE the chorus, but that transition is weird.  I know they were going for weird, but I'm not sure it's a positive thing here.  Pretty jarring and doesn't really seem to fit. It works better as it goes from chorus to verse, but I'm talking specifically about verse to chorus.  I dunno, I've only heard it twice, but my first time I listened to it, I had to rewind.  I was like, "what, wait did I miss something," and then went back: "Nope, the song just does that."

The only thing I liked about the song was the grunginess I thought the whole song was going to be like that and be close to Mullholand Drive, or Keepsake. Then the chorus comes in and it just sounded misplaced in the song plus I think its one of the worst choruses in a Gaslight Anthem song for me its just weak it doesn't have the element to make me go wow. I like Get Hurt the song better than this. I know Gaslight is trying to go for a different sound and change things up but I feel like their getting away from what they did so well on previous albums. They are a rock band and I get bands change but I don't know what to think of their new album even though its only 3 songs out of 16. I hope their are some more rocking songs on the album. I just don't feel like these 3 songs are up to par with what they have done before, Get Hurt and Rollin Tumblin sound like songs already done by The Gaslight Anthem on previous records and not nearly as strong. Hopefully the rest of the record changes my mind, I Guess in way I don't want the band to lose their signature sound farther on down the road with future releases.

I absolutely hate the drug references. This record threatens to become a junkie's diary.

I absolutely love everything about this song. I don't get some of the criticism I'm reading.

It's exactly what they said was coming.

You guys are really, really tempting me to listen. I haven't seen a divide over a song like this in a while.

Might not even be abuse.... Could be anti-anxiety, anti-depressents... Could be for an illness..

We'll never know the background to them, but the references strengthen the artistic point that this is something that is deep, dark and very real.

This isn't a criticism, or a critique, just an idea that kinda crossed my mind during a listen. I wanted to see if anyone could get behind it.

could they have perhaps done a second chorus?

Like in seņor and the queen:

Chorus 1. "In every sad sad country song..."

Chorus 2: "would you shake shake shake...."

If you just repeat the first chorus again in seņor and the queen, It fits but, it would throw off the flow.

stay vicious has a certain flow going and I could possibly see a second chorus fitting in if they had decided to do one...

Hmmm. Idk. I was also listening to s&tq like crazy recently Razz

I like this song anyways so what does it matter lol.
