Alright, so I don't post here a lot, so many of you may not know me well, but I play guitar..and bass. And I was watching multiple TGA shows on YouTube and I've always wondered why Brian had the number '5' on his Gibson ES-335 (the blue guitar he plays). You can see it at the Reading show:

So does anyone know why?

It's been asked before. Apparently it's an Eddie Vedder thing where he numbers all of his different guitars.

Ed doesn't number his guitars. He has one or two that are a tribute to Pete Townshend who started numbering guitars in the mid to late 70s to differentiate his guitars by tunings.

Brian may have copied it from Ed but it originated with Pete.

When I saw him play, he had a Blue telecaster with a number 5 on it too.

I didn't know it was asked before. It just made me go, "Oh." Alright, everyone. Thanks for clearing that up.
