it's identical in every way, Gordon. as far as we can tell, they've swapped 'Euro pressing' for 'we'll get some of the LPs they pressed in America'.

Do you know if they've checked the matrix numbers? If this really is the same, people should be able to cancel their orders.

I did, that was the question that got that reply.

I've just cancelled my order too. They also confirmed to me that contrary to what they were originally told, these are simply copies that were sent from the US. Oh well, at least it saves me some cash.

I feel bad about canceling my banquet order because they've been so good about getting stuff out I order quickly... I'm actually disappointed with the pressing information and what went on with this record.

This is now posted on Banquet:

"the UK / Euro version of this LP is EXACTLY the same as the US one. It appears Universal in the UK have ordered 500 of the American LPs for Europe and then divided them up accordingly once landed in the UK. Any UK indie's saying this is a UK press are probably misguided. The Greenhell Euro press IS its own press tho."

The last part about Greenhell confused me though in light of what we know about that LP (maybe they're confusing the LP with the bonus 7"?)

the more I compare my listening experiences the more I am not loving this vinyl pressing.

in the car I have been listening to the CD. It sounds pretty good. I have 320 kbps on my iPod and listen to that at work with pretty good Klipsch headphones and it sounds good but I hear distortion on some parts, most notably Biloxi about 2:06 in when it just shrieks. It's still pretty good though. And at home I have been spinning my vinyl and tonight I just wasn't getting the vinyl experience out of it. Too me it's just the same as the CD being pressed onto the vinyl. I guarantee you that with the same equipment nobody would be able to tell the difference between the CD and vinyl. I know this is common for a lot of new pressings though.

Anyone else feeing this? I don't think I'm crazy yet.

to be honest with you i dont know, i ended up with about 6 copies of Handwritten LP in the end , what with the 7" etc. I didnt notice it untill enola put a picture up on her facebook page today so i have just checked my copies , it is being sold on the merch stand, so other than this I have no info.
The blue is clearly different as is the back cover. Somebody on ebay.de is selling a copy he says is made in the EU.

I just bought what I hope is the EU version. If it turns out to be another US copy, I'd appreciate you thinking of me if you come across another copy.

This seller appears to have several copies for sale if anyone is interested. He confirmed to me that this is in fact the "Made in the EU" version.

I checked the Banquet Records website, which says:

"the UK / Euro version of this LP is EXACTLY the same as the US one. It appears Universal in the UK have ordered 500 of the American LPs for Europe and then divided them up accordingly once landed in the UK. Any UK indie's saying this is a UK press are probably misguided. The Greenhell Euro press IS its own press tho" ...

... however, the copy I got from Greenhell with the 7'' was the US pressing; did Greenhell also have a seperate EU pressing?

from the above posts it would certainly appear that this EU pressing is a continental one (I am investigating further)

I find it incredible that getting pressing information for this record has been such a royal clusterfuck.
