If you choose to do an online shop like that, I'm guessing it'll be American. If that does happen then can we also do the thing suggested above (send design round as a PDF) please? I can never afford the postage from America. Sad

She's only 320 in that list because one of the profiles higher up got deleted. Her # is definitely 321.

As far as I'm concerned if it says she is #320 in the members list then she is #320. I don't get where it says she is #321 scratch

Ignore those numbers down the side. If I click on Members now it says I'm #1 simply because of the way the list has been sorted. You need to go to the person's profile and look at the url to see the member number.

No go to the members page and you can sort them. Sort with 'join date' and 'order ascending' and it lists them in order from the first person to join.

Yes, but the numbers listed in that column are there regardless of how you do the sorting. Steph may be 320th in that list when you sort that way but her member number is 321 because she was the 321st to join. She's now only listed 320th because someone has deleted their profile so everyone has shifted up one. This doesn't then mean her member number is 320, it's just that she's 320th in the list of active profiles.

How did you originally find out that someone had deleted their profile then?

Common sense, as there's no other way that the url for Steph's profile would say 321 while she's listed at 320 in that list. Razz

No luck Mike my url still just says dimestoresaints.com. I still think we should just go off the number as listed in the members area geek

Is that for me sometimes too, but that's the link to your profile, and you can see the 712 right there. Not sure what number you'd be in the list though Razz

Realistically I'd say this needs to be a simple design, 1 colour on black or grey (goes with any jeans or shirt then).
And not have lyrics printed on the back as the cost is going to start to stack up and turn people off the idea.
In the U.K you can upload a PDF design and get it printed for about 10 which is pretty cool. That way no one person has to outlay a ton of money, other than buying their own shirt.

Let's see some actual designs from people.
I'm thinking classic, kind of RAMONES or GBGCs style iconic Tshirt design would be good.

Afterall wearing a Tshirt for a forum is quite geeky so the design needs to be kinda cool and strong to counteract that I think, so I didn't cringe at the sight or thought of wearing it. The design needs to stand out when you're at a dimly lit venue.

The username idea is kinda nice but personalising each design could get quite fussy / messy. Best just to see someone wearing the shirt and go 'hey, you're on Dimestore too!' and strike up a conversation and take it from there.

Anyway here's my design suggestion:

Really like that. Also like the number idea on the back or something, less keen on user name

I like this design - keep it simple I say. I also (possibly strangely) like the idea of it being less obviously Gaslight related (which again the above design fits) - kind of like, if you're in the know, you'll get it and appreciate it and if not we don't need to scream GASLIGHT ANTHEM at you.

If we can get a hi res image of the agreed design it should be reasonably easy for everyone to order their own. I don't know whether you could get a bulk buy discount for ordering say 20 or 50 at once but if that's the case, maybe we could band together e.g. us lot in the UK order 20 from a UK based company.

The Hold Steady's forum - The Unified Scene - do something similar with their usernames and numbers. They maintain an "official" list and then someone takes responsibility for ordering a new batch. I do get why you'd want the username on but might be a lot of effort to maintain in future.

If El Jefe could be persuaded to come up with a design that would be fantastic.

Thanks for the feedback on the design Smile

I could certainly create a print-quality high res file if that's something people were interested in.

Here's a larger version of the design.
I created it in Adobe Illustrator so it's crisp vector shapes, rather than pixels.
But for the purposes of posting it here I just did a quick screen-grab for now.

*IF* it went ahead with actually being printed I could provide a vector EPS or press quality PDF file.

Any ideas about shirt colours? I quite fancy a dark grey one.
