I have only seen him in the U.S. so not sure if Europe is different but all the past few tours the band hasn't left the stage until the final song. They will take a quick bow before what would be the encore songs but there is really no break in between. Shows have been 3 to 3 1/2 hours, no opener. If the start time says 7.30pm, it typically starts between 8pm and 8.30pm.

oh ok..thanks for the information...one more question how does it work with the GA pit lottery?

Last time in Paris, he got on stage 2 hours before the show and played a couple of acoustic songs for the people that were already there. He is the boss, plain and simple.

I am sorry I don't know much about the way it works in Europe. I'll leave this to any Europeans to answer who have attended shows there. The GA pit lottery system from the U.S. is rarely used in Europe as far as I know.

Very cool, I'm jealous!

I have had "near misses" several times given that I'm in Asbury a lot. Once I was down there with a big group of friends and we split up for breakfast going to two different restaurants. The OTHER group ended sitting right next to him! (This was at Sunset Terrace, for the locals)

oh really? that's a shame! you should have joined the other group...but you never know...you are living in NJ, so you still have chances to meet him...maybe one day you will have that chance, who knows?

I mean, meeting him in Europe by chance is impossible, we went to his hotel and luckily he was there

So, this happened at the Dublin show:

(Bono turned up and they did a duet on "Because the Night" which Springsteen wrote for Patti Smith and later recorded himself.

More of a novelty than a great recording, IMHO.  But still would have been exciting to be there for it.

Honestly, I'm just excited to be seeing Bruce, I don't care who else is there! Three days to wait...

(Although obviously Brian would be the cherry on the cake!)

If you haven't seen, Springsteen gave a really good interview with Terry Gross on NPR's Fresh Air:

I guess I should mention I was lucky enough to meet Bruce a couple of weeks ago at a book signing. But the person before me mentioned Gaslight to him, and he just said "Those are my boys!"
