I did!

Well, yes and no. I've suspected something was off but this wasn't really what I had in mind.

so...you guys keep in touch, then? it sounds like she is interested in getting back together with you, and you don't really know how you feel?
Yep, we talk every now and then.

Yeah exactly, I've invested a lot of time in trying to get over her so I'm not sure how to react, you know?

well, that's hard then. if you've already spent a lot of time trying to get over someone, it might be worse to go back to them. i tend to think that if a couple breaks up, they shouldn't get back together again, the same thing will just happen. but no one here can really tell you what to do, you have to do what you feel is best!

Yeah definitely, and I think that this is without doubt one of the cases where the relationship ended for a reason.

I guess I could get back together with her but there's such a string of complexities involved that I'm not too keen on the idea.

doesn't sound like it's worth it, and you shouldn't get back together with her unless you really want to, that's not fair for either of you.

it sounds like you're much more on the side of getting over her. personally, i think it's easiest and best to not talk to your ex at all until you're completely over them, otherwise it'll just draw the process out forever.

I am trying the whole emotional connection thing...I just get the feeling I keep ending up "like a brother" to the girl I am trying to ask out.

Jimmy, if you didn't have an emotional connection to a girl at all, what would be the point in dating her? I know you have said you aren't just looking to get laid, so why wouldn't you try the "whole emotional connection thing" as you put it? A relationship isn't really worth having if there aren't any emotions involved at all. I feel like I'm missing a piece of the puzzle here... scratch

Theres the key, dont get too close, or before you do make your move. Theres a reason you build a family with a spouse they become your family. That "brotherness" or being friendzones means you missed your window of oportunity, in between stranger and close friend

Girls of all ages are attracted to guys with confidence. Haven't we already resolved this? Answer: yes. Talking in circles FTW. Still using FTW, FTW.
