I mean just look at gaslight. they are a pretty good model on how to dress if you're into that style. it's pretty straightforward and it never really goes out of style.

for 75 euros? looks great for the price duder. i think it would look even better as just a zipper coat without the mildly brash toggles, but if you think you can rock it, go for it.

i reckon the cotton brings the price down, but i like it more than a lot of wool duffle coats anyways. or maybe i just don't like all the tools who wear them... i get confused sometimes lol.
Yeah I'm thinking about buying it and removing those rope thingies, because I'm pretty sure it comes with a zipper. What I really want is a parka in that color and if I did that then it would pretty much be just that.

Well, what kind of style do you want to go for?

How do you typically dress now and what do you not like about it?

I really like Brian's style especially during The '59 Sound. I try to copy Dave Hause a bit (logic being, he's my height and my build so it might work). Any thing like that...

I tend to wear skeleton print jeans (http://www.kreepsville666.com/uk/p-600-white-skelebone-skinny-jeans.aspx), white t-shirt with a cringy 'political' design and a patched version of Alex R's sleeveless jacket. Maybe a black hoodie too if its really cold.

Personally, I think it looks fine but I mainly get misgendered or when I do get gendered correctly, immediately insulted by someone else.

You mind posting some pictures of Brian's style during that period? That would make it much easier to help you achieve what you're going for.

I gotta get a whole new wardrobe, all my clothes are too big for me and baggy.

Tell me about it...

I'm bored so I spent a while finding some pictures where I thought Brian looked cool: http://imgur.com/a/5NdPH

Basically, I want to get to a stage where being called faggot in public isn't one of my few compliments.

Alright.

First thing you want is a pair of black jeans. Make sure they're fairly tight or at least follow the shape of your legs to some extent, black jeans look goofy as hell even if they're just a little baggy. Perhaps that's just my opinion, but if you want to go for the Gaslight style then that's what you want to do.
Next thing you need is blue jeans, obviously. If you got a bit of money to spare then you could get two pairs, one darker pair and one brighter pair. If not, just get one pair that's not too dark or bright. Same thing here, get them a little bit on the slim side.

In most of the pictures you linked, Brian's wearing a checkered shirt. You can find those pretty much anywhere, as always just make sure they fit your body. Not too short or wide, nor too slim and long.
Another really nice shirt is a straight up denim shirt, the important thing here is that you don't match your denim shirt with your jeans. For example if you're wearing a blue denim shirt you want to wear black jeans (or basically any non-blue jeans). You could wear blue jeans with a blue denim shirt if you'd want to, just make sure they're a very different shade, i.e one bright and one dark.

Back then he was also sporting a biker jacket a lot.
Get something along the lines of this:

It's very easy to sport a jacket like that with hoodies for colder weather, like so:

So yeah, jeans and a flannel shirt. Can't really go wrong with that, again just make sure it's well fitted.

I wear my black jeans so that my testicles can't breathe.

I wish I were lying.

I went round some charity shops today (I'm poor Sad ) and found this: http://imgur.com/a/OAg18

I do have black jeans but they're so tight that my socks can't even breath. I might try out some outfits and post them on here for opinion. I know this probably isn't the right place, but a scary amount of right wing shit sieve though most trans* websites and you guys seem awesome Smile

I quite like the jacket; not my taste and damn, 75...

11 including my volunteer discount. The green shirt I grabbed before it'd reached the shop floor; that's why there's never good stuff in charity shops.

Wait, are you trans? Badass and consider me in awe of your courage to just be yourself.
Take Harbortown's advice & most of all, be confident cause that's pretty much the most important part of your look.

Well, to get complicated with labels, genderfluid trans* guy! There's really no courage involved in being out on two webforums. And thank you for the huge compliment on my avatar Smile Probably my favourite photo of myself now.

Yeah, confidence is probably gunna be an issue...

I know someone who is trans (becoming a male), and he is actually one of the nicest people I know. Congrats on being able to "come out".
