lol good catch Smile I put A LOT of references of brian and bruce and some old blues in my poems.
not coping just taking images to pay homage to those that inspire me.
it's a reference in that her saying "I believe in you romeo" in my poem she's saying that to him burning
in that, "I believe in you but you're dying and I am doing nothing to save you" it's about love.

yeah, I've submitted a bunch but only 4 poems got published. I think it was called White Oaks Press. I'm saving this stuff for when I get 50 REALLY good stuff. I work on forever on this stuff. I spent 3 weeks on that one stanza lol. lawrence in 1912 the union workers were rioting because of bad working conditions and low pay, ie the union of my heart on strike for the same reason, the union of my heart being love. blah blah blah. but yeah lol

It sounds like you have a great plan for your poetry. I can't wait to read more! I like the historical and literary references, and of course the ode to TGA/She Loves You. Well done! Very Happy

Why don't you ask the next question, Jonah. Anything you want.

Wow, a reset in a thread that's not spam! Razz

My favorite Springsteen album is either The River or Born in the U.S.A. I have been listening to The River a lot and am blown away by the music, the stories, the passion in Bruce's voice. But I grew up with Born in the U.S.A. and it's always been one of my very favorite albums from any band. It's a tie.

ya know, I haven't been a bruce fan for awhile. about 3 months. and I've been very slowly working through all his albums. so far I'm at the river and I've only gotten through half of it. I didn't like his second album but other than that i have LOVED all of his albums. my favorite is Darkness!

70s/80s Bruce is my favorite, but The Rising and Magic are both terrific albums. The Rising has a lot of anger and passion behind it, so it's really powerful. Magic felt like a classic to me as soon as I heard it. Girls in Their Summer Clothes, Radio Nowhere, I'll Work for Your Love, Long Walk Home, all so, so good. It's a little more mellow than some of his other stuff, but it still feels like classic Bruce. And now I am so excited about Wrecking Ball! I'm going to buy it the day it comes out! Very Happy

It does, doesn't it? I think this album is going to be a lot like The Rising in the way it feels. The Rising was released the summer after 9/11, so there was a lot of rage and pain behind some of the songs, and I think the current state of our country and the world inspired a lot of Wrecking Ball. Angry political Bruce is always a good thing.

Haha, I feel like I've been a teacher my whole life! I have been working with kids (babysitting, Vacation Bible School, internships, and then actual teaching) for 18 years, since I was a child myself. I'm glad I could help you out a little. When I was new to the forum, I just wandered around and read every thread I came across. Lots of people pointed me in the right direction and answered all of my questions, so I'm happy to pay it forward. If you ever have a question, just ask and we'll all be happy to help. Very Happy

Very interesting question, Steph! I tend to be an aggressive girl, so I think if I was a guy I would probably get into a lot of fights and wind up in jail or something, haha. And since guys aren't generally as nurturing as girls, I probably wouldn't be working with little kids, but maybe I'd still be teaching. Perhaps auto shop? I don't really know, I've never thought about it before! Razz

well, forgive me for getting off course here, but i feel like i should mention that "different gender" doesn't necessarily mean the usual stereotypes of "male" or "female". but yeah, you seem the opposite of aggressive! hah. you've never though about what you would do if you were born male? oh man, i have list after list of what i would do! mostly it's of where i would place my new appendage, but there are so many possibilities (not just of that), my mind runs rampant.
