Cody, that is so awesome! I am a Christian too and I think your vision is fantastic. When you mentioned a family gathered around the radio, I had this image in my mind of the Waltons sitting in their living room listening to radio shows. That's a great idea! Your story is very inspirational and you should be very proud of yourself for being able to turn your life around. Good luck with your studies! Very Happy

God's chief-end is His Glory. We were all created to glorify Him. The reason He made us was to glorify Him. It's simple, His plan for you in your life is to glorify Him in all that you do in your life.
We all wonder, "what does God want me to be for Him, or how does He want me to glorify Him?"
His plan is His glory. His plan for you is His glory.
the number one rule of history that I live by and that we should ALL live by is this:
GOD WILL ALWAYS GET HIS GLORY!
there's only two things you can do about the rule:
1) refuse to allow it and make Him get His glory the "hard way" (not trying to glorify Him)
2) accept that He will be glorified whether you try or not, and then TRY!

Don't be lost on what His plan for you is,
His plan is for you to glorify Him.
and don't be worried whether that plan will be carried out or not.
because it will. He will.
All you have to do is accept that and try to glorify Him in all you do.

listen to God and be comforted:
"I am the LORD your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go." Isaiah 48:17
"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.'" - Jeremiah 29:11-13
^THIS IS GOD SPEAKING!
this is not a man inspired by God saying this, no!
this is GOD himself saying this!

also:
Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart; and lean not upon your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your path.”

A lot of christians don't read their bible anymore and it's sad. Read john! back in august that's what I did. It will help you get to know Christ personally, the things he did and such.
Also Romans is great! it's a letter by paul to new Christians on how to live the christian life

GLORIFY GOD AND HIS PURPOSE FOR YOU WILL BE FULFILLED!

okay I'm done now :p

Cody, you have the opportunty to get involved in some great religious discussions and debates here. The forum can use your knowledge and passion! I really like everything you told Jimmy a few posts back by the way. Those were great verses that you quoted.

Thanks Smile I'm not into apologetics but if someone WANTS to argue I can lol I just don't like arguing over God. it's counter productive

Oh, I agree completely. A friendly debate is one thing, but arguing about God just isn't right. I have gotten trapped into religious arguments with relatives before and it's just the worst. I refuse to participate in those discussions anymore.

Just jokin... There does seem to be a lot of love on here. It's like the love from all of Brian's heartbreak songs just radiates from folks. Smile

Welcome to the forum man. That's cool you're seminary bound. I thought about it...majored in Religion. But, kinda switched paths. Didn't feel called, ya kno? Anyway, welcome.
Do you have a favorite TGA song, or two or three?
