How do you guys see Slatan Ibrahimovich? Since he's a Swede the Swedish media talks about him all the time and proclaims that he's one of the absolutely best football players, but is he really?

And can't Del Pierro be seen as a big Italian star?

Ibrahmovic is very good, not quite up there with the best but I suppose you could label him world class.

He doesn't do it in the big games often enough though.

I'd have to disagree Palmer89, I think Ibra is massively overrated, i follow Serie A and have kept track of him since he joined Juve. He's a very good player, but World Class is being very kind to him. Having said that I'm not convinced that Ronaldo is world class so it may just be me being harsh on players. I'd have Ibra and Cristiano as 2 exceptionally talented players who cannot bend a game to their will, in a way that say, Zidane, Messi, Xavi and, in their prime, Roy Keane and Denis Bergkamp.

Ronaldo and Ibra will beat poor teams every week, but put them up against a real, well organised team and they go missing. People have argued with me that Ronaldo turns up in big games, the stats would back me up but generally the argument is he scored in the champions league final. However I defy anyone to look back at that game and tell me he played well, apart from the goal he was non existent, his missed penalty summed up his performance.

I'll willing wade into a debate on Zlatan, albeit a bit late. One of the most over-rated players in Europe in my opinion. Have yet to see him play well.

Can't say he's over rated...from what I read no one actually rates him for one thing!

You don't play for Inter and Barca without having an awful lot of talent though.

Glad to see my team finally doing well (Tottenham), no doubt be at the bottom of the table without a manager in a couple of months time...

that Tigers-Twins game was the best baseball game i've seen in years. from the 7th inning on, i was thoroughly interested in the game, including yells of joy, shock, and excitement at several points. and this is coming from a guy who can't watch one batter without getting bored

and yeah, i hope they kick the Yankees' ass

Dallas Stars have dropped both of their first two games of the season (albeit in overtime shoot-out). Cowboys were disgraced over the weekend. Rangers' season ended....

Hope next week is better for Dallas sports :\

I do think you've started very well but will drop off a bit as the season progresses. Still think top 6 is where you'll end up though, even if it is 6th!

pleased to see there are a handful of baseball fans on the forum. i'm a White Sox and Padres fan. i love baseball, but it's always a little hard to watch the playoffs because it's hard to get into if i don't really like any of the teams. I was stoked that the Twins made it, but those damn Yankees had their way w/them...

as it turns out now, i'm rooting for the Phillies and Angels, mostly because my two LEAST favorite teams are the Dodgers and the Yankees.

at least (american) football has started... i love Drew Brees and the Saints. I used to work at a grocery store in San Diego and he would come in when he played for the Chargers and he was a really cool guy.

Damn that's awesome,

I put money on the Yankees not winning the world series so I'm rooting for everyone but them

At least you can enjoy the World Cup without pulling your hair out at your own nationas shortcomings, as I always do with England- I enjoyed the last one much more when we were out!

Who are you going to root for instead?

Not a huge fan of International football, even as an Englishman couldn't really care how we fare in the world cup, bores me to death and just don't like it.

Tottenham still going well though, no doubt will lose horribly to Stoke next and get sent down the table though...Defoe is a very silly boy.
