| Hey Bobby, it's Zack. I don't think bands like Gaslight WILL save rock 'n roll, I think they already have. Music is fragmented, as it should be. Whatever your life experience, you can find something. I think lots of people keep expecting these bands we love to become as big as springsteen, and maybe they will, but I don't think so. Gaslight will get bigger, and they may even have a few hits up their sleeves, but I think the middle-class musicians are the future. Most pop music will continue to be devoid of meaning (which is totally fine, even hte people who don't care about music need music), and tons of bands will satisfy those of us who demand music like that. Asking for the millions of Beyonce fans to suddenly become punk rockers (which is the only way bands like this could ever consistently be THAT huge, rather than having a few exceptions to the rule) is asking for people to inherently change. I'm just fine with The Gaslight Anthem having enough cash to live comfortably and own nice cars without having millions of assholes who don't get it but "like the beat" at their shows. Henry Rollins agrees with me. (Sarah would enjoy me posting this, no?) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2q5L8kUOtA&list=FLS6BN7epmJr-FqIWwfGkrcA&index=5&feature=plpp_video |

| No, the Sarah I'm talking about isn't a TGA fan, Bobby and I know her through being Bruce fans.
Is this Sara Goodman I'm talking to, perchance? Or Sarah Kelly? |

| Saw this posted on the Backstreets BTX (springsteen) fourm about TGA:
100% behind these guys and it's great to know that there will be a band to go see after the E Street Band has played their last show. |

| I love Henry Rollins and he is right, much of music today is overly decadent. It is so mass produced and overly stylized that it loose meaning and it's soul. Even the El Camino record just sounds like Brothers part II. I do like the black keys, but to me they are better than overly layered distortion that you hear. Little black submarine got me so excited at the beginning, I thought to myself finally a great song and then the female vocal layering just turned me off. |
