Searched to see if there was anything like this but came up empty handed so here it goes...

This is the thread to point out all of the little things that you've found and grown to love in Gaslight songs/live performances. For lack of a better term, I called it Easter Eggs.

"I got a '59 Chevy with a 396" at the start of Old White Lincoln from 2010 Bonnaroo. Reference to Springsteen's "Racing in the Street" although the original lyric is '69 Chevy.

Brian's laugh at the start of "Here's Looking At You, Kid" from Live At Park Ave.

At the end of the Backseat when Brian starts singing "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For". Live at the Wireless is one example.

In the Red at Night recording, at the very end when it's going quiet, there's a guy in the background that says "there it is" (about 4 seconds left in the song).

Looking forward to see what other people have come up with Smile

Good topic. These are called interludes when they break into another song temporarily.

When The Horrible Crowes played Ladykiller live at the troubadour Brian sang Pictures of You by The Cure for the coda. That probably tops my list.

When they were in Amsterdam last time Brian sang 'On all these Amsterdam streets' in Spirit Of Jazz. He might do that in every city they play though Razz

Great Expectations at Glastonbury, when Brian yells 'And if you liked it, you should have put a ring on it!' always cracks me up.

Yeah man, I love this version! The one from Fest 4 2008 has some pretty sick improv, Brian mumbling about old timey stuff.

Another one from Old White Lincoln @ 2010 Bonnaroo, Brian sings a lie from Nineteen by Tegan and Sara instead of the "bring a dolloar with you baby" line.

that's a line from 'Cold Cold Ground' by Tom Waits, way before Tegan and Sara.

Thanks, JimmyB. I hate when I can't place where lyrics are from, and I REALLY should have known that one. Anyway, that was a good find on your part! Very Happy
