He has a point in regards to their songs being very simple.

But who's to say that simplicity is necessarily a bad thing? Sometimes all you need is four chords and a bit of honesty to pull on those damned heartstrings.

The schoolyard bully thing popped into my mind because one of the kids I nanny for was having trouble with that last week. My advice worked, of course. That's why her parents pay me the big bucks...
