Thanks for this. Love it, but is there any chance you have the rest of the show? Like Chuck Ragan?

I wish I did. I had a problem with the second memory card I had, so I didn't get Ben Nichols' or Chuck's sets that night. Sad i do have Tim Barry's though, and that'll be online soon as i get a chance.

Bumping this thread to draw attention to myself...business as usual. Wink

Really, my website has an interview with Frank Turner up right now with an opportunity to win autographed copies of his albums. I thought some of you might be interested.

i would like to thank you for posting the link to your site because i just discovered Bobby Long, who is incredibly good. trying to get into Sam Bradley too. he's good, but he just doesn't compare to Long

i also checked out and downloaded stuff from Josh Ritter and The Avett Brothers, who i'd both heard of but hadn't checked out, and Frightened Rabbit, who i had never heard of either

however, Bowerbirds, Bats For Lashes, and The Van Pelt (on recommendation from Frank) didn't stick on first listen. we'll see, maybe i'll give 'em another chance

Thank you! I'm so glad to hear that. I think Bobby Long is amazing. I think Sam has potential and that whenever he gets his album out it will be a good one. Mel says he is great live so that might be the draw right now.

Josh Ritter is my absolute favorite musician in the world. Frightened Rabbit is my current favorite band. If I didn't emphasize that enough at any given point. Wink

I adored Two Gallants but the other recs didn't stick with me. I might give them another listen at some point.

Again, thanks for reading! This comment made my day.

Itt's not a bad song, not as much punch as most of his others but not a bad start for his upcoming album, off to see him in October.

I just saw Frank two nights ago. After 3 abortions of opening acts his set was incredible. I got to talk to him for a bit after the show, super nice guy. I'm excited to see him in September with Gaslight

shit that new song is good. i was a bit wary of the rock sound, but now i'm glad he's doing it. i think he capped the folk thing. i wouldn't wanna hear Love Ire & Song again. and this song is really good. i wonder how the other new songs he's played live will sound

"We write love songs in C and we do politics in G. We sing songs about our friends in E minor!"

"Some of them are just like you and me, and some of them are dicks"

yeah, that's my favorite of the new songs too. Dan Song is really good too. idk about Live Fast, Die Old though. i haven't heard a good enough quality version of that to decide yet

Saw him support TGA at Birmingham and that was first encounter with him - he had a good fan base there - not really my thing but can certainly see the appeal! He was also standing on the side of the stage when TGA played London Forum.

When TGA played Bristol on 5th Feb about 70% of the people there were only there for Frank, the floor was half empty when Gaslight was on (well, maybe not half empty).

I suppose, 10 to see Frank Turner supporting someone is still a damn decent price.
