| So since being a college student has put me below the poverty line, I couldn't attend the festival this year. However, I've been watching the festival stream live on YouTube which has been awesome! I just wanted to know if there is anybody else out there following it, and if so, what bands are your favorites playing this weekend?
My List (in no particular order): Brandon Flowers Flogging Molly Robyn OFWGKTA Skrillex Tame Impala Sleigh Bells The Black Keys Arcade Fire Bright Eyes Foals The Kills Jenny and Johnny Golgol Bordello The New Pornographers Ellie Goulding Foster the People The Strokes (and last, but by far my favorite) THE NATIONAL!!!!!
Remind me again why I'm not there...oh yeah, I'm broke. :/ |

| I watched Warpaint yesterday, one of my favorite bands. Also Titus Andronicus rocked the shit out...Cant wait for the National also
I really really wished they had shown the webcast of the Henry Clay People performance. |

| I can't take my eyes off of The New Pornographers right now. I've been in love with Neko Case since 7th grade. 'Twin Cinema' and 'Fox Confessor Brings the Flood' are some of my most played records of all time.
Exactly 24 hours until The National!! |

| Thought Black Keys were awesome last night. Annoyed I missed a bunch but I forgot about the livestream til they were on. Today, at first wasn't sure I was going to like Big Audio Dynamite, but did. Currently waiting to see what the fuss is about Bright Eyes and Arcade Fire. Tomorrow will be checking out the Strokes, Jimmy Eat World and Duran Duran (maybe Wiz and Nas/Damian depending on what I'm up to at that moment). |

| Watching The National's webcast right now. Matt Berninger has one of the few combination of voices / song writing skills that rival Fallon's in my mind. I know its a long shot, but if there is any way to get him to sing a song on the horrible crowes release or do a different colabrative project with Brian I would be like the happiest person in the world. |

Justin Vernon (Bon Iver) coming out to play Fake Empire at the end was definitely a nice surprise. Set was too short though... part of why I'm not a big festival fan. The National should be playing two hour sets, not 45 minute |

| The National made my day. Matt was incredible and so raw and so, just, beyond words. And Justin Vernon's appearance was the cherry and sprinkles on top of a Sunday of awesomeness. (except you Kanye, you can just crawl back into your hole now)
The Strokes ended their set very abruptly, but while they were playing I reverted back to my 13 year old fan girl self.
But the highlight of the festival by far (at least for me), was watching The Swell Season sing "Falling Slowly" which is probably my favorite song in existence and I cried like a baby the whole time. And it was magical.

Hey, new to the forum as a poster, but I am a long time lurker! The whole Swell Season set was my highlight. Glen Hansard's voice just blows me away every time I hear it with it's emotion and passion. It was great to watch it all from the UK on YouTube, I hope I can go travel over and go next year, and it would be even better if TGA were there too! |

| Maybe its just me, i thought it wasnt that great a performance.
I thought they really seemed to lack passion and didn't really seem into the set much at all.
Not saying it was that bad, just that it lacked something.
Not sure what exactly. Just my opinion. |

| There wasn't much energy on the stage, the songs seemed to be played a bit slower than usual, Brian's voice was scratchy (but on key) and it just seemed kinda dead...
Totally agree with ya but it certainly could have been worse |

It's hard to get a crazy vibe going at a fest unless you're the big headliner. |

| Definitely don't agree as YouTube will tell you gaslight has been awesome at festivals even when they played early in the day |

| I gotta disagree with the "lack of passion" thing. I think they seemed very into it, like they were playing harder even than usual. They just weren't running around or as expressive of it, and I think that's what you're interpreting as lack of passion.
I'll use this analogy. You know how when you're listening to songs like Howl or 45 you might wanna jump around or shout the lyrics, but if you're listening to HLAYK or Blue Jeans you might feel just as passionate but not want to be so physical about it? I think that's how they were playing. More of an internal, calmer, emotional passion, than a loud and crazy one.
Idk, that's how I saw it, and I've seen shows were they seemed like they were going through the motions, this didn't seem like one of those times to me. _________________ Shelby

| What a load of shit, as if we're still discussing Springsteen again 4 years later. I could see the guy edging towards it but I was hoping he'd hold off. Wishful thinking.
Heres an idea! Ask Brian something that we haven't heard before. Get us some new information.
Twerp! |

| It was a good interview up until that point. I think the worst aspect of that though was him pressuring Brian to pick someone he want's approval from or to collaborate with. And like collaboration is great and all but the way the guy worded it was kinda like Brian's or TGA's value only comes from who they're associated with. _________________ Shelby

Yeah that's what I was thinking, its almost like he couldn't care for TGA, just the bigger names people know that might make his interview seem more interesting to the general public. |

| Brian also did a solo performance at Coachella for that radio station. I've seen pictures, but I haven't seen the link to the songs yet. Anyone? They may still be uploading it. |
