I was kinda surprised with the way Heart's All Gone sounded. In a positive way. Smile

I'm pleasantly surprised with how it turned out.
Strong first few songs, and it progressively becomes more experimental (for Blink at least) with more instrumental sequences; the interlude to Hearts All Gone is unreal. I dig the direction of it, especially considering it's 8 years since they have made music together and the chemistry is pretty surprising (e.g. the intro to Natives with how well the guitar and drums blend together). Some of the lyrics are weak though, and there's a bit too much Tom.
It's also much better to listen to while high sunny

I loved Dude Ranch like no other album. That album defined the summer and fall of 1997 for me. I think once I got it a week or two after it came out, it didn't come outof my cd player until I found Cheshire Cat! Not to mention they remained my favorite band during a 2-3 dominating hip-hop experience. I think the only rock music I listened to at that time was Blink-182, Fenix TX, and Homegrown

I didn't like Enema of the State or Take off your pants and jacket as much as those first two albums, then I got really into Saves The Day (and many different bands and types of music after that and Blink-182 kinda faded away. Never picked up the self-titled or releases after that. My wife dug AVA, but I didn't bother with either post Blink bands...and I really wasn't too gassed about Box Car Racer either.

Boxcar Racer was the best album (lyrically) that Tom has ever written.

I think it's great. Some songs are eh but the songs that I like, I really like. My favorites are Natives, After Midnight, Wishing Well, and Love Is Dangerous. I thought I was going to be disappointed, but I'm really digging it Very Happy

The new album hasn't stuck with me yet. Some songs are great, like Up all night, Hearts all gone and Natives, but for the most part I think it's not as good as their previous record. The production is pretty bad too.

The only thing that rocks about him is how much he loves Bad Religion.

Other than that, he's just a really pretentious guy who thinks that Angels and Airwaves is the most revolutionary thing in the history of music.

I quite enjoy the album, it's extremely catch. Not as good as Blink 182, no, but still an enjoyable listen. For one thing, just listen to the drumming...it is awesome.

My first ever concert was Blink with New Found Glory (and yes, it rocked!)

the new album is good, there's lots of Tom on it and I love me some Tom Delonge, LOL. A lot of fans say they sound like AVA now, but I don't think so and I love AVA anyways so it doesn't bother me Razz "Self Titled" is one of my top 10 favorite albums, hands down. IMHO, it's their 'masterpiece' and I don't think they can top that one. Just like another poster said it is ironic how so many of us started with Blink and then moved on to TGA Smile

Blink 182 is their definite masterpiece, yes. It's amazing, both in terms of production quality and songwriting value.

Say what you will about Blink, but they are the reason I listen to music, they are the reason a listen to Gaslight Anthem. Blink-182 started it all for me.

Yeah, exactly the same for me. I was simply quoting the journalist, who was a bit... condescending about Blink in the article Very Happy

I feel like a great majority of the (now) 16 to 24 crowd started that way, at least in rock, punk related, genres.

It's just one of those things I guess. People just love Blink, then when they reunited it was literally an entire new generation of fans. Regardless of who I'm with, and what type of music those people listen to, they more than likely know blink-182 songs. Every time I pull at my guitar whether with a few friends or a larger gathering, it's always "Know any blink?!" Of course, their being my favorite childhood band and reason for playing in the first place, there are very very few songs I don't know. It's a cool feeling sometimes.

A review in a Belgian magazine (Humo) gave Handwritten 3 out of 4 stars (not bad, because they don't give high ratings very easily). They also wrote that "Brian Fallon does not like The Pixies and is proud of owning all Blink-182 albums" (part of a negative introduction). Anyone who was a recollection of an interview with Brian saying that?

12 more days, and goddamn I'm excited!

I believe it was in American Songwriter last month. Brian said when writing "Here Comes My Man" he was remembering there was a Pixies song with a similar title but that he was never really into the Pixies. And he said he still buys every Blink 182 album.

But honestly there's nothing wrong with Blink. And the Pixies are cool.
