Here's a pic of my new USB turntable next to my first ever turntable, a Philips portable.

I'm now busy ripping those old records I never re-bought on CD.

I have always been intrested in what the sound quality from one of those is. Can you set what bitrate etc?

Sounds fine to me, given we are talking crackly old vinyl in any case. I can't see a bit rate option in the programme that comes with it (MixMeister EZ Vinyl Tape Converter), but the recordings I made were at 160kbps. I gather you can use other programmes with it in any case. The sound through my very good PC speakers is great, but you can also connect it to a normal Hi-Fi. For the money, I've no issues.
