i just tried morningstar farms' sausage patties (the hot and spicy kind) and holy crap they're delicious. i had some for breakfast and then again for dinner tonight. not on their own, they're not that big. i wasn't sure how meatless sausage patties would taste, but two thumbs up from me!

Veggie here! Best brand is probably, to be really original, Quorn. Seriously, try the scotched eggs. They're amazing!

Been a vegetarian for about 11 years now. Started being vegan again last year. For me it's just the healthiest way to live.

I have been a vegetarian since I was 13. My mom never supported me even as a teenager when we came home from school and mom had cooked, I had to pick out the stuff that is not dead animal. Nothing extra for me. But didn't bother me. Every now and then I really want meat, but I just don't want to put dead animal in my mouth. Not possible.

Of course they also beheaded chickens. But anyway, the pigs represent all animals in that case. Whenever I think of Bratwurst for example, I see a pig that is missing part of its butt instead Very Happy I can't explain it, it's just gross in my head

Haha Wow. That's funny because I can totally hear Benny saying this. This really makes me want to check out that sandwich shop in New Brunswick to try "The Benny" sometime.

I can't really speak of any good "veggie meat" brands, although I always enjoyed Tofurkey. Especially the peppered kind.

Oh, and I'm coming up on 10 years as a Vegetarian this month, with the exception of fish...and chicken over the last couple years. But, I try to eat range free chicken and avoid farmed salmon. So, anyway, High Five all you vegetarians. (Laurence, I'm sorry, we just keep ending up on bad terms...maybe one day we'll grow out of this).

Oh, and have any of you seen the movie "Forks over Knives?" I highly recommend it.

It's okay Shannon. I'm a glutton for punishment... Sad

And, honestly John, I'd take the cold beer on a Friday night (and a pair of jeans that fit just right) over a little bit of chicken fried. Razz

Yeah, there's a lot of dead animal in there. It is petty sad. You should watch it after you have a few drinks... then it'll make you really sad. Not that I advocate depression... Um... anyway. I think, eventually when I'm on my own, I'll try to go vegan.

I've stopped purchasing meat products now with the (classic) exception of the occasional fish (tuna and salmon). So je suis no vegetarian but I do avoid eating meat most of the time, which pleases me at least.

I'm a vegetarian, and have been for about 15 years. I'm also vegan sometimes, and would like to be again. It's the dairy, mainly cheese that gets me. It makes sense though, because there's something addictive in milk, I can't remember the hormone, or what exactly it is. The milk is made to be that way though, it's one of the things that keeps their baby wanting more. It stimulates something in the baby's brain when it nurses, so it wants to keep eating. It's weird that we drink milk from animals anyway, it's something a mother produces for her baby. I'm not explaining this very well, but it's really interesting if you google it.
