These guys were a huge influence of the GA and I personally love them and still listen to and buy their albums. I'd say Wildflowers is my favorite album, but there are other great albums as well that are absolutely amazing. Other fans out there?

Everyone needs at least two records by Tom:

1. His greatest Hits

2. Wildflowers

if you still love Tom Petty songs (as I do), then this is a must:

New Release (23 November 2009)

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
'Live Anthology' (4 CD Box Set / 7 Vinyl LP Box Set)
57 tracks spanning 1978-2007

http://www.amazon.com/Live-Anthology-4-CD/dp/B002P4VUNU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1258490291&sr=8-1

I got this a few weeks ago, and its great; rather than being a greatest hits live collection, about a third of the songs are covers.

So, so jealous! I saw them five or six years ago in Portsmouth, Virginia and they were incredible. It's still the best concert I have ever been to. To be fair, I have never seen TGA in concert, though. Wink

*Insert cheap joke about driving old men crazy here*

I'm really getting into the first album at the moment. Hometown Blues is probably my favourite.

Hometown Blues is one of my favorite Tom Petty songs!

Have you listened to Damn the Torpedoes yet? That is my favorite of his albums, but they are all great, solo and with the Heartbreakers.
